Warriors Score 59, Place 11th, one 2nd and one 4th at Ridgefield

January 30, 2011 Leave a comment

The Warriors scored a total of 59 team points to finish 11th in a field of 16 teams at the annual Ridgefield Challenge on the 29th. Thanks to all the team-mates, fans, friends, managers, alums and parents who turned out to support the team. Clay Helms was the only Wilton finalist and finished second after a tough 10-4 decision in the 160 lb weight class. Drew Venditti finished 4th in the 125 lb class after being forced to forfeit due the daily 5 match limit. (The consolation final match would have been counted as Drew’s 6th match, so he was not allowed to wrestle.) Complete brackets for the tournament can be found here.

New Reference Materials

January 27, 2011 Leave a comment

After you finish shoveling out from the latest storm, or doing some shadow wrestling why not check out the Reference page for some new articles? With tournament season upon us, they’re worth a look — especially the ones with information about pre- and between-match hydration and nutrition and the pre-match warm-ups. Don’t gas in your last match — hopefully the championship finals — because you’re dehydrated or because you’ve not eaten properly.
