Team CT will be preparing for the Cadet, Junior and Women’s Nationals in Freestyle Wrestling to be held in Fargo, ND July 18-25. At Wesleyan University, we will be hosting wrestling practices and training in preparation for this phenomenal tournament.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO COME AND TRAIN and help make yourself and your fellow CT wrestlers better.

Practice Days:

Sat April 3rd

Sat April 17th

Sat April 24th

Sat May 8th

Sat May 15th

Sat May 22nd

Times: 10:30 am – 1:00pm

There will be alot of wrestling, drilling, and competition to make yourself and Team CT better.

Come and join us. It is free, with the exception of needing a USA Wrestling Card ($36.00). USA cards can be purchased at any of the practices.

Summertime Wrestling Plans?

We know some of you are beginning to think about, or are already planning on attending a summer wrestling camp.  Please let Coach Foldeak know where you’re going — or at least where you’re thinking about going ASAP.  Sometime in the next couple of weeks Coach will have a team meeting to discuss these plans (and to collect equipment, etc.)

Also, several wrestlers and parents helped move one of our old mats up to Comstock to support the launch of the new Wilton Youth Wrestling program.  Thanks to everyone who helped — and to everyone who helped pick up the new mat!  Good luck to everyone involved with the new program!

Congratulations and a Big Thank You!

Congratulations to outgoing senior Captain Terrence Reedy and the tri-Captains for 2010-11 announced at yesterday’s banquet:  Clay Helms, Drew Kennedy and Drew Venditti.

And, a big thank you to all the parents, boosters, friends, staff, coaches, managers and wrestlers who made the evening so much fun!

Pick Up Help Needed Saturday

The new wrestling mat purchased by the Wrestling Boosters needs to be picked up in Wilkes-Barre PA (approximately 3 hours away from Wilton) some time in the early afternoon on Saturday.  The boosters are renting a small box truck so we will need at least one adult driver.  The one truck should be enough to transport the mat sections.  Please contact Kathy Helms ASAP at 203-761-0422 or at khelms1 @ optonline.net (without the spaces) if you can help.  Once back in Wilton, the new mats will be stored on Sunday at WHS.
