Autism and Wrestling Benefit Event January 5th @ Sacred Heart University

Head coach Andy Lausier and assistant Derek Moore are in the process of rebuilding Connecticut’s only Division I wrestling program. They are also on a mission to help develop Connecticut wrestling at all levels. Sacred Heart has a top 25 recruiting class of freshman and picked up the University’s first Division I dual meet win in almost years recently against Davidson University. The Pioneers’ first home dual meet is on January 5th at 5pm and they have invited you to watch some DI competition and come support the Sacred Heart Pioneers.

SHU’s Pioneers wrestling is also partnering up with Pinning Down Autism for this dual meet so there will be a $5 entry fee for all attendees. All proceeds will go towards raising funds and awareness. With this entry fee each person will be entered into a raffle. During the intermission between 157 and 165 we will have a drawing and one lucky fan will win a brand new IPad courtesy of our alumni association.

The team is also doing a T-shirt exchange during the dual. Anyone that brings a t-shirt from another university to the dual meet can trade it in for a brand new Sacred Heart wrestling shirt.

Before the match the Pioneers will have a 1 hour clinic from 3pm-4pm followed by free pizza. Wrestlers can bring their shoes(and appetites) and come out on the mat for a technique session.

Here is a flyer with all the information. Coaches Lausier and Moore thank you very much for your support and hope to see you on the 5th of January.
